![]() It seems like all the software that has these things is $500 or more and comes with way more stuff than I would ever use. The more I hear about Waveburner, the more I am leaning towards Logic Pro. Which includes use VST plug-ins, Trim the beginning and end of songs, View them in a nice playlist view, draw in volume automation and write in CD Text. Since I do all my mastering (minus limiting) in Pro Tools, I just need a program that allows me to program CD's as well as CD Architect. I am really not looking for a huge feature set program. Holy crud! Is Sound Blade really $2k? I could buy Logic Pro, DSP Quattro 3.1 and Peak Pro and Waves CLA plug-ins Native for that price. You can always start with PMCD and upgrade later to soundBlade for the difference in price. If you want to use plug-ins, then you'll need to look at soundBlade: No playlist necessary!! It works just like placing markers in ProTools, except THESE markers are the CDPQ codes. You add all of your audio files, place your START and END markers, change levels, save as DDP, etc. Check Thomann Pros + Good CD mastering feature-set More than just an editing/mastering app. I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but have you looked as Sonic Studio's PreMaster CD? MusicRadar Verdict As a straight-up audio editor, DSP-Quattro is a bargain its powerful instrument hosting and routing options are impressive bonuses. What do you guys think? Buy DSP Quattro for $150 (crossgrade) or save the money for Logic Pro? I don't want to spend more than $200 unless it was on a purchase like Logic Pro. Wavelab LE looks like it is about the same as Peak LE. Peak LE is way to consumer based as well as Toast 9 (which I do own). The CurveEQ spline equaliser from Voxengo is the latest incarnation of an old. However, all three are taken from Steinberg's Cubase 7, so those who have an all-Steinberg setup will probably already have them. I do think I would like to own a copy of Logic some time in the future, but it isn't that urgent for me yet. Wavelab's collection of bundled plug-ins has grown over the years, and three new options have been added in version 8. In fact, it looks like you can only get it by purchasing Logic Pro. ![]() A few other little quirks.Īnyways, many people seem to use Waveburner, but there is no way to be able to try it out. such as I don't think you can add nodes to the volume envelope on each track which really limits what you can do. It seems to be pretty close to what I want. In any case, I am checking out DSP Quattro. I would really like it if you could draw in automation envelopes for your plug-ins too. I am looking for an application that allows you to layout your CD with all the usual CD mastering stuff such as CD Text, Volume Envelopes (draw throughout the songs), Trimming of the audio and the ability to use my Waves plug-ins (I like to do my final limiting in this stage). So I am absolutely dying to find a great CD burning application to replace CD Architect. CD Architect rocks! But since Waves has dropped DX support and CD Architect doesn't have VST support, I am forced to find something else. ![]()
